Hootsuite is great if you manage a lot of social profiles (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Instagram) for a client or even for multiple clients. I like that you can schedule messages and shorten URLs to ow.ly links so that you can track click throughs. You can also customize your dashboard so that you can see different feeds, such as your Twitter timeline, scheduled messages, inbox messages, etc. You can also build reports in Hootsuite, which can get pretty extensive depending on the type of account that you have.

Dislikes : If you don't have a Pro account, you are limited in the number of profiles that you can add. I believe 3 is the maximum, so it's pretty limiting. Also, even if you have a Pro account, you are limited in how many features you can to a report unless you upgrade to a more expensive account.

Problems & Benefits : We have a wide range of clients with numerous social media profiles and needed a place that would keep these profiles organized, and allow us to schedule messages in advance, without being too expensive. With Hootsuite, we are able to add a LOT of social media profiles, allowing us to keep track of all of our clients' posts, activity and results in one place. It would take much longer and be inconvenient if we had to log into each profile and send these messages out right when they need to be distributed, rather than pre-scheduling them. By saving us time, Hootsuite allows us to focus on other projects, saving us money too!

Tools/Features Used : We have the Pro account and use it mostly for scheduling messages and shortening links across various social media profiles. We don't use the reporting features as much.

Recency of Experience : Less than 6 months

Recommendations to Others : Go with the Pro account. Even if you're a small business, you'll likely have a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profile. If you have LinkedIn and Google+ too, you won't be able to add all five unless you have a pro account. The pro account also allows you to schedule more messages in advance.
