The project management software market has experienced rapid growth in recent years, and Wrike offers cloud-based solution that can scale up with growing needs. It enhances traditional collaborative tools with social media technologies that allow for a centralized repository of multiple projects. It streamlines project management by facilitating the assignment of tasks, tracking project schedules and deadlines, prioritization of project assignments, robust Gantt charting, and more.
Project status snapshots are available to all project team members and can easily be edited and changed as the project moves forward. The transparency of such an approach can greatly improve team accountability and morale. The variety of ways that project information can be viewed assures that each member can visualize the project in whatever way suits them best. Wrike also boasts integration with a variety of document management platforms such as Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox.
Our 6-point review of Wrike
In this video, we analyze the Wrike software product on 6 critical dimensions: Usability, Maintainability, Performance, Integration Ease, Functionality and Customer Support.
Pros
What users seem to especially like about Wrike is the combination of traditional project management tools with a social collaboration workspace where project team members can interact, discuss ideas, and collaborate more efficiently and effectively. Others highlight that because the company launched the project as recently as 2006, they feel the platform has the right mindset upfront in today’s increasingly digital and social environment. Other users note that the ability to duplicate initial project parameters from a master project makes creating new projects more efficient. The same goes for the ease with which recurring tasks can be set up and edited.
Cons
The drawbacks to Wrike tend to take the form of “wish-list” items. Some users note that sub-task creation/editing is not yet enabled when accessing Wrike through mobile devices. Other users have noted that features that don’t pertain to their type of work take up valuable space in the user interface, which means a greater ability to customize would be appreciated. In general, users note that while the company is aggressive on rolling out fixes and new features, those seem to take much longer to become available in the mobile environment.
